Gold Price opens the week higher
Sydney-Australia (May 10) The spot gold markets have just opened (8.10am Sydney time) for the week, with the yellow metal trading 0.1% higher at US$1189 an ounce.
On Friday in New York on the Comex, gold finished 0.6% higher at US$1188 an ounce.
For the week the commodity was up 1.2%.
In other metals trading, July silver added 1% to US$16.465 an ounce, or % higher on the week.
July platinum added 1.1% to US$1,143.50 an ounce, up about 1.2% for the week.
June palladium rallied 2.1% to US$802.35 an ounce, gaining 3.7% from the week-ago close.
July copper settled less than half a cent lower at US$2.9205 a pound, losing 0.3% for the week.
