Silver up 0.3% in futures trade on higher global trend
Mumbai-India (Oct 24) Silver prices edged up by 0.33% to Rs 51,343 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions on higher global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March month rose by Rs 167, or 0.33%, to Rs 51,343 per kg in business turnover of 34 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 145, or 0.29%, to Rs 49,905 per kg in 3,322 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators, driven by a higher trend in overseas markets mainly helped silver prices to went up in futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver rose by 0.40% to $22.65 an ounce in London.
